A little while ago, we got interested in finding solutions to mould that (1) actually worked and (2) were natural (not toxic!). My Nana always reckoned the best cleaning products came from the pantry, not under the kitchen sink.
And it turns out nana was right!
After lots of experimenting, we found that vinegar and clove oil constantly came up as go-to natural solutions. Digging deeper we found that there are lot's of cleaners that use vinegar. And lots based on clove oil. But no commercial products that utilised BOTH of these together! We tried it and it turns out that combining vinegar and clove oil produces better results. It's a case of "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts".
So we started Nana’s Remedy Co. right here in the humid Northern Rivers of New South Wales — where mould likes to throw parties on bathroom walls.
Our first product is Nana's Anti-Mould Solution. It's a simple “just add water” mix powered by vinegar and clove, with support from other botanicals, like tea tree, lemon myrtle, and eucalyptus. It’s a cleaner that's tough on mould and soap scum, but gentle on the planet (and your nose).
We believe cleaning shouldn’t be complicated or toxic. Just honest, effective, and made with a bit of old-fashioned care. No single-use plastic bottles, no nasty fumes, and nothing we wouldn’t be happy for Nana to use.
Every batch is made with love in small runs. We’re a small but growing Australian business doing our best to create products that actually make life easier — and a little bit cleaner in more ways than one.
